Description With its stately upright growth habit weeping white spruce bears drooping blue-green foliage making it a strong accent plant for Northwest gardens.

  Morphology:
This conifer grows approximately 1’ per year to reach a height of 10’ after 10 years, and perhaps 40’-50’ after another 30 years. It will retain its slim demeanor however for its entire life.

Bearing highly pendulous limbs this spruce variant has three-quarter inch long needles tightly bunched on slim branchlets. Whitish blooms lightly cover the foliage. When the tree is young it features yellow-brown stems which fade to gray over time. Cones are 1”-2” in length.

  Adaptation:
Highly adapted to most sites. Does best on rich moist sites with acidic ground.

  Pests:
None reported.
