Description Goldilocks Hinoki Cypress is known for its bright lemon yellow foliage. In relation to the cultivar ‘Aurea’ this Hinoki cultivar has a more uniform stature and denser form.

  Morphology:
This slow growing Hinoki cypress grows to a mature height of 40’-50’ tall, with a width of 15’-30’ in a tight cone-like shape. It bears blunt, paired leaves with 'X' markings underneath. Small trees do withstand pruning if so desired.

  Adaptation:
Hinoki False Cypress prefers a cool, moist climate. As such Hinoki cypress can survive on both acidic as well as alkaline soils. They do best in full sun in order to develop their true color. This particular cultivar would be best as a specimen tree in the landscape, rather than a foundation or screening conifer.

  Pests:
None reported.
