Description On a starry night in the middle of winter, Moon Glow Canadian hemlock stands out with its bright, new white winter growth as if touched by frost.

  Morphology:
This hemlock cultivar is a true dwarf conifer in that it only grows to a height of 3’, with a width of 4’. Leaves (needles) are in 2 ranks, flat and slightly tapered. During the winter the needles are white with a blush of pink, but mature to green by the following spring.

The bark is brown and deeply fissured.

  Adaptation:
Best on moist well drained sites where it is protected from the afternoon sun. Amend the planting site in order to provide this plant a life of nutrients.

  Pests:
None reported.
