Description As it forms a low mound of bright yellow-green foliage, the cultivar Low Glow is one of the more popular versions of this dwarf Japanese Red Pine.

  Morphology:
Over time this red pine cultivar will attain a height of 2’-3’ and a width of 3’-4’, forming a mound of dense, compact foliage. This plant grows slowly at only 3”-5” per year. Needles are borne on stout horizontal branches, which thus lend to the flat-topped shape. Tan buds contrast well with the bright green foliage

  Adaptation:
Grows well in average - medium moist, well-drained soils in full sun. A light amount of shade can be tolerated in the summer.

  Pests:
None reported.
