Description Hardy Yellow Ice Plant is a very useful non-invasive perennial ground cover that sports a plethora of yellow daisy like flowers in the late spring.

  Morphology:
This evergreen groundcover only grows to 2” tall but can spread as wide as 36”. Over time established plants form an attractive mossy cover to a rock garden. The evergreen leaves are thick, oblong or linear, and fleshy. Each leaf is 1 and a quarter inch long and one quarter inch wide. They are fat and succulent thus making them drought tolerant.

Yellow flowers bloom in spring for nearly a month. As fall approaches, the leaves take on a red color and in winter, the foliage turns a bronze hue.

This plant is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds.



  Adaptation:
This plant is easily grown on most sites. Drought-tolerant once established and is considered an excellent choice for xeriscaping.

  Pests:
Typically pest free. Plants will perform poorly with water-logged soils.
