Description As a relative of the popular Japanese maple, Autumn Moon Maple is noted for its golden-yellow foliage overlain with orange red tones as the summer progresses.

  Morphology:
This is deciduous garden tree that can eventually attain a height and width of 15’ by 18’ respectively. Over-all the tree will form a rounded outline with time. It bears palmate leaves with a distinctive pleated effect. The leaves have 11 short lobes (sometime only 9), which separate 2/3 the way out from the leaf base.

  Adaptation:
This species likes morning sun afternoon shade, especially in hotter climates. With too much reflected light the leaves could scorch. None-the-less the most intense color comes from having sun exposure. Provide a location with well-drained, fertile, humus-rich soil and regular summer watering.

  Pests:
None reported.
